Support for Children and Young People

Every child we support has been disadvantaged by abuse, often leaving them feeling unsafe, destabilised, and unable to regulate their emotions. These experiences can significantly affect their development, identity, and ability to engage positively with others.

We provide safe, trauma‑informed spaces where young people feel listened to, valued, and supported. Through tailored interventions, they can process their experiences, rebuild a sense of safety, and begin recovery. Our consistent, specialist support helps them develop emotional stability, resilience, and confidence. Ultimately, we aim to empower young people to build healthier relationships, restore hope, and realise their potential despite adversity.

Sexual Assault and Abuse Support Service Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes is the only accredited provider of specialist sexual violence support in the county for survivors of all genders aged 5 and above. Since 1995, we have delivered long-term, trauma-informed, and survivor-led services to individuals impacted by sexual violence, including children, young people, and their families.

We recognise that children and young people who experience sexual abuse are at significant risk of long-term emotional, psychological, and developmental harm if timely, specialist support is not available. Our dedicated children and young people’s services are designed to provide early intervention and sustained therapeutic support, enabling recovery, resilience, and positive life outcomes.

Our work helps children, young people, their families, and carers to heal by offering a safe and supportive space where they can begin their journey of recovery in the aftermath of abuse. We walk alongside them, demonstrating that healing is possible—that where there is darkness there can also be light, and where there is sadness there can be joy.

Across Buckinghamshire our service is called SASH, and is delivered in partnership with SAFE!.

In Milton Keynes our service is called RISE.
