Volunteers

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. You bring us your enthusiasm, skills and commitment, and in return we provide a supportive environment for you to learn new skills, get invaluable work experience, and help shape SAASS services, all while making a real difference to the lives of those affected by sexual violence.

Volunteers are crucial to SAASSBMK as none of the support we provide would be possible without them. We are always looking for volunteers for a variety of activities: counselling, fundraising and social media, just to name a few!

If you share our passion that recovery is possible for all survivors of sexual abuse and want to join our dedicated team of volunteers we want to meet you!

Michelle

I joined SAASS in Oct 2017 as a volunteer and started off answering calls on the helpline and then moved over to be a volunteer counsellor. I came across the agency at a placement fair while I was at college and what initially drew me to the volunteer at the agency was the warmth and supportive staff. Although the work can be challenging at times it is also rewarding in many ways and provides a lot of opportunity to grow and learn. For these reasons and many more I am happy and proud to still be part of the agency today
