Information, Advice and Guidance
Explore your concerns in a safe environment and consider the type of support that you would find most beneficial.
We’ll help you think about your individual needs so that you can decide what the right kind of support is for you.
What is an Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) appointment?
When you refer yourself or are referred to us, we’ll invite you to attend an Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) appointment by phone or using a secure online platform. This appointment is an opportunity to explore your concerns in a safe environment and consider the type of support that you would find most beneficial.
What will happen during the appointment?
During the appointment, we’ll help you think about your individual needs so that you can decide what the right kind of support is for you. This could be a combination of practical and emotional support, including:
- Information about coping with the effects of trauma, including grounding, mindfulness and self-care.
- Help accessing the right support relating to housing, finance, work, education, health, etc., by signposting you to appropriate agencies and organisations.
- Support with reporting to the police and through the criminal justice process with our Independent Domestic/Sexual Violence Advisor (IDSVA) can provide.
- Non-therapeutic emotional support, reassurance and encouragement through our Thrive2gether peer support group.
- Access to face-to-face or telephone Counselling, Group Therapy or Pre-Trial Therapy.
